CONGRATULATIONS
TO THE NEW DIRECTORS OF THE Y DANCE PROGRAM! COLLEEN CINTRON-RIVELLI (Director) is a NYC based dancer, teacher and choreographer. After graduating cum laude from the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College, she has danced for Rotem Tashach, Honor Gherman, Megan Williams, Esse Aficionado, John Zullo, Jessica Morgan, and is presently a company member of Von Ussar Danceworks, Rebudal Dance, and Evolve Dance Inc. Ms. Cintron served as Executive Director for danscores by Ofelia Loret de Mola, coordinating international tours as well as engagements throughout NYC. Ms. Cintron completed a two-week tour of Kosovo with the US Dept. of Culture teaching modern dance to both newly emerging modern dance companies as well as traditional folk dancers. She followed this exchange by participating in a 1-month dance exchange in Accra, Ghana. She has presented and performed her choreography at the Rebound festival and most recently at the Work Gallery in Redhook, Brooklyn. She currently teaches for the Y Dance Program and is the Curriculum Director at Evolve Dance Inc. CHRISTINA NEIL (Director) is originally from Jefferson City, Missouri where she began her training at Dancenter under the direction of Karen Boyer. She attended the University of Utah where she received her BFA in Ballet with triple emphases:Teaching, Performance and Character Dance and with a Mathematics Minor in Spring 2005. Then she received her MFA in Ballet in Teaching and Scholarly Research from the University of Utah in 2006. While in Utah she studied under many people including Conrad Ludlow, Sharee Lane and Attilla Ficzere. She also performed in many University shows and toured internationally with the Character Dance Ensemble for three years. Since 2006, Christina has been dancing for Eidolon Ballet in Concert and also serves as their stage manager. She is on faculty at the Family YMCA at Tarrytown. ALEX MARTIN (Assistant Director) graduated in 2010 from Wayne State University with a B.F.A. in Dance. Throughout Alex’s career at WSU, she performed works by Melissa Allen, Twyla Tharp, Meg Paul, Penny Godboldo, Ben Munisteri, and Nicholas Leichter. One of her choreographed works, “Area of Stability”, was selected to be featured at the American College Dance Festival East Central Gala in 2009. Invited as a guest performer in 2009, she performed with Nicholas Leichter Dance at the Joyce Theatre for the premiere of “Killa”. She is currently a member of Evolve Dance, Inc. and has recently travelled with the company to perform in California at the MixMatch Festival. Alex is also a member of John J. Zullo Dance where she has performed at the HOT! Festival, Dixon Place, and Theatre for the New City with the company. In addition to actively pursuing her career as a professional dancer, she teachers and choreographs at several dance schools.
